Aims :asking the way. Get the students to grasp the simplest conversation about asking and showing the
way.

T eaching Procession :
Part One Learning the words
Teaching the words and expressions of this lesson with the help of some images of the buildings which
show some different parts of the city. (picture one )
Teaching the words and expressions about positiions such as in front of ,next to with the help of the two
pages in the CAI.(Picture Two and Three)
Part Two Finding places
Teaching how to answer "Where is--It's in front of /behind /next to /---" using the street map(picture four).L
et Ss describe the position with the expression such as in front of, behind,next to ,on the left/right of--- .First
the teacher demonstrate ,then the Ss practise.
Part Three Asking and showing the way
First learn how to ask the way "Excuse me,where's the nearest ---/the Great Wall Hotel?" And then help them
answer like "It's over there on the right. It's next to the ---"or "Sorry, I don't know."if the speaker doesn't
know the way.Ss practise in this way in pairs.
Part Four Game and exercise
Describe the position of some certain student in the class.Let students guess who he/she is. Then finish an
excise on the CAI(shown as Picture Five)
Part Five Homework
If time permits, tell Ss to do the excises in the workbooks.
