II. Teaching steps
1. Lead-in
1) show a piece of advertisement.
2) Then teacher acts out some kinds of body language for Ss to guess their meanings, while dealing with new words in the text.
2. Fast Reading
1) Find topic sentence of each paragraph.
2) How many parts can the text be divided into?
3. Further reading ( group work)
Make notes about gestures that have different meanings in different countries, and gestures that are universal., then ask Ss to explain and act out.
4. Discussion
1) In our daily life, which one is more important words or body language?
2) “A smile can open doors and tear down walls.” How do you understand it?
5. make a Short play
Let Ss show more gestures at first. Choose a situation by themselves, using as many gestures as possible to help them express.
