Poetry
---Eleanor Farjeon
What is poetry? Who knows?
Not a rose, but the scent of the rose;
Not the sky, but the light of the sky:
Not the fly, but the gleam of the fly;
Not the sea, but the sound of the sea;
Not myself, but what makes me
See, hear, and feel something that prose
Cannot, and what it is , who knows.?
Step II. Listening
A. Tell the Ss sometimes people change the word poetry to songs. Ss listen to the song named Right Here Waiting, and fill in the blanks for the missing words or sentences.
Ocean apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain
If I see you next to never
How can we say forever
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
