上半学期，我们学习了有关描述人物、表明观点、表达偏爱、表达意图和决定以及表达同意和不同意等方面的日常会话知识。现在将它们最常用的习惯表达法简略归纳，以帮助同学们进一步复习和巩固这些知识。
一、 Describing people
1. - Can you describe your mother to me?
- She's not tall, but she's hard-working and kind-hearted.
2. - What kind of person would you say Kerry is?
- She is independent, sedate, friendly and intelligent.
3. - What's your impression of your new teacher?
- He's easygoing, very patient and humorous.
4. - What do you think of him? Is he capable of doing his work?
- Yes, of course. He is versatile（多才多艺的）and everyone who knows him is amazed by his capacity for work.
二、 Expressing opinions
5. - What do you think of the TV sets?
- They look nice. On the whole, I think most TV sets are in good quality now.
6. - How do you see exercising in the gymnasium?
- I'd rather do exercise outdoors.
7. - What would you say to family education?
- From where I stand（= In my opinion）, it's very important and necessary.
8. - Do you have any view on this?
- It seems to me that talent should come first.
9. - How do you feel about this?
- My own view of this is that he should be pitied rather than accused（责备）.
三、 Expressing preferences
10. - Would you like coffee or tea?
- I'd prefer a cup of tea.
11. - It's a lovely day. Would you like to have a walk?
- No, I'd rather stay at home than go out.
12. - Which color do you like better, blue or red?
- I like blue better.
13. - Where would you like to have your college education, at home or abroad?
- I'd like to have it at home more than abroad.
14. - When should we start our tomorrow's journey?
- I don't care. Any time you want. / It's all the same to me whenever we start.
四、 Expressing intention and decision
15. - What's your plan for the summer vacation?
- I'm thinking of going to New Zealand.
16. - Are you planning to go to Canada for further study?
- Yes, I mean to go to Toronto University.
17. - Do you have any intention of taking up a second foreign language?
- Yes, I'll begin to take a French course this summer.
18. - Martin has decided to quit the job.
- Why? I'm surprised to hear that. It is very hard to find a good job at present.
19. - Which one do you want to buy, the classic one or the modern one?
- To tell the truth, I can't make up my mind. I like both of them.

五、 Expressing agreement and disagreement
21. - What do you think of my arrangement?
- I don't completely agree to it.
22. - Are you going to go along with my proposal?
- Yes, but we need to consider everything in detail.
23. - Price is soaring and money is losing its value. Don't you think so?
- To a certain extent, yes, but we have no way to avoid it.
24. - Do you agree with her?
- Yes, I couldn't agree more.
25. - Electricity shortage has become a very serious problem in East China, don't you think so?
- How true!
26. - Do you agree on basic policies?
- I agree in principle, but I have some other opinions.
27. - Could you help me carry the books upstairs?
- No problem. / That goes without saying.
28. - Children should watch TV every night. They can learn a lot.
