Basic form: Education Practice
Practice Purpose: With the help of education practice , and find out teaching and studying of schools. On this foundation , I have combined close professional knowledge and practice that studied newly. And further training that capacity of work and analysis so that I can attain to handle masterfully .
The date of practice : September 1st – October 20th ,2003 .
Practice location: Quanzhou Southern Shaolin Wushu School
Summary report:
One-month practice was over , I have learned a lot of knowledge about teaching and studying for this month . Now I will report this practice during the last month .
At first , I will introduce my practice unit : Established in 1995 , Quanzhou Southern Shaolin Wushu School is a private full-time boarding school , consisting of an infant school , primary school , junior middle school and senior middle school. The chairman of the board , Chen Zhongwen , is a member of Fujian Provincial political Consultation Conference , vice-chairman of Luojiang District`s political consultation conference . The headmaster and the secretary of the party branch of the school , Chen Xiang , is a postgraduate student of Xiamen University , and the vice-chairman of China Wushu Association .
Consistent with the party`s educational policy , the school adheres to the principles , “Educate students with moral character ; convince students with the force of arguments; move students of love, enlighten students with wisdom.” Upholding the principle of quality education, responding to the call of the municipal party committee and government-“Flourish the city with science and education” and insisting on, “struggling for existence with quality ,making progress with features”, the school gradually forms her own way in running the school: That is”A stress is put on literary, and a combination of literary and Wushu”. At the same time , the school embodies her three features: traditional Chinese boxing and fencing , Chinese ping-pong ball and traditional Chinese painting”. The school works hard to achieve its aims: “satisfy the parents, earn society`s approval , and make the leaders relieved”.
Lead by the Party , and different levels of the government as well as receiving input from various circles for five years , the school has stepped in the development track of a good cycle. The school enlarges from 121students to 2000 students , from 2 buildings to 23 buildings , and become a 60-mu garden school . Comprehensive ability in the school`s teaching has also been strengthened. The school has won nearly two hundred gold medals in the city , provincial and even national competitions, and was awarded “Civilized School of Quanzhou City”, “The Advanced Unit of Quanzhou City in Supporting the Army and Cherishing the people”.It was granted “The National Red-flag Team”by the Nation Young Pioneers committee, has been listed in “Chinese Famous schools” and introduced all over the country by China Education TV station . In 1990, It was awarded a little of “Civilized School of Fujian Province”, as the only school awarded which is run by non-governmental forces and was awarded a title of honor “The National Advanced Unit in carrying forward the Quality Education”.
And the next, I was arranged to practice teaching for forefront education by Mr Guo , the vice-executive headmaster at this school . I listened to the teachers for the first week , and the last two weeks , was arranged to work as a the teacher in charge of class and a teaching member . My thoughts and feelings were very deep after I looked back the work to practice and teach, so summary as follows:
1. Try out the teacher in charge of class work
I practiced in Clsss2, Grade3 of junior middle school. There are 37 in the class, they are 29 boys and 8 girls. The class are active and most of them are League members and progressionists. Brought along the labor agent , the students finished the room shipshape and sanitation in the room or outside is fine, without seeing pieces and rubbish. Since the students are in full scale development and develop quality education, and through doing morning exercises, the students are good health. So fewer people asked for sick leave. During the practice time, I realized some parents went to school to understand their children and helped teachers inculcate them.
As a the teacher in charge of class , we should take good care of student and help them patiently like their guardian. It is also dutiful for the teacher in charge of class to do this. After practice, I had some experience which we must not treat the students like this , such as discrimination and humiliation and favouritism. We should be sincere and patient to resolve some troubles in education . I attempted to educate the students individually, and worked out plan of consolidation for good students . For those secondary students, I analyzed them ideas and studying at present, and found a way to make them progress. For the bad students, let them take an active part in activities in outside or within class and made everybody have their own right to speak. They have chance to perform their own talent. They also feel that they are valued by teachers , thus avoid to opposite mentality. So, class is basic unit of teaching at school. Its quality management have an important effect for the sdudents` health and mission of teaching .
2 . Try out classroom teaching
Century Plan is on the basis of education and Education Plan is in view of teachers . I think that teaching work is the most essential and the teachers take charge of director in class . The Chinese common saying , “One-minute performance , ten-year work behind the scenes .”If you want to succeed, need to work together with students.
I have practiced spoken English teaching for three weeks. I put to use practice that I had studied “New Person to Person”, and “American Society Culture”, and “American Movies” before . Face to reform open and WTO entrance and communication more and more widely. Learning English well has already become people`s desire. I will summarize my spoken English teaching as follows:
2.1 Take advantage of language teaching , establish teaching modal of interaction between teacher and students. I do not say, “stand up , please!”when class begins , like this kind of outmoded opening remarks. When I went to class, I said, “Is it time for class ?” Like this transfer, it is easy to attract the students` attention and also find out just juncture to study between teacher and student.
2.2 Make use of the word that succinct and humor and encouraging to creat the happy and relaxed classroom atmosphere. I am full of emotion and talk with smiles in class . Treat the students with enthusiasm and patience, this just like Dr. Brian Low, our foreign movie teacher in Huaqiao University. I have learned from his teaching style. When students` answer are right, he said, “Good; Yes; Ok, That`s a good point, thank you.” And his/her answer is wrong, just saying, “Try your best .”When it is hard for him/her to express and wants to give it up , I encourage them to try their best. Thus, the students answer questions without scruple and speak eagerly in class.
2.3 The English lesson is practicing course. You must change knowledge into capacity and apply agile and interesting teaching method to arouse their interest. Communication in each class, reflect teacher and student and between them, just like PLAY PINGPONG. I regard student as subject and my own activities are to help the students study better. For example, partners in class are usually different, you must ask about sb./sth. In English. If you are VAST, BIG and HUGE are the synonym of your family member; If you are BEIJING, you look for CHINA; If you are ROMEIO, you must look for JLIEO, if you are BEFORE YOU LEAP, LOOK is your members of group.
We know much through teaching in class, English spoken teaching not only make the students master everyday English and understand culture to language and accord with foreigners` habit, but also promote the students` abilities to analysis and improve them to use knowledge had studied to think out questions, and raise their opinion.
Practice of post-three day, with the help of Mr Su, the headmaster of the school , I have learned to put in order the file. Though this is a simple job, it is much more patient and careful than other things. Since everyone cooperated well, we have done the job much more successfully than what we thought.
Through this practice , let me notice deeply that competition has been into all fields and all human beings` lives, including our study and work and life. For this reason , I think it is necessary to strengthen competitive sense. It`s not a long time since I practiced, but it has brought me too much ,which I realized myself and kept me understanding my work and social practice and society. At the same time, let me know that we can find ourselves , so long as we make great effort and widen our experience and enlarge our ken. And also they will give us a firm foundation for further going into the society .
