金鸟的英语童话故事 1
A certain king had a beautiful garden, and in the garden stood a tree which bore golden apples. These apples were always counted, and about the time when they began to grow ripe it was found that every night one of them was gone. The king became very angry at this, and ordered the gardener to keep watch all night under the tree. The gardener set his eldest son to watch; but about twelve oclock he fell asleep, and in the morning another of the apples was missing. Then the second son was ordered to watch; and at midnight he too fell asleep, and in the morning another apple was gone. Then the third son offered to keep watch; but the gardener at first would not let him, for fear some harm should come to him: however, at last he consented, and the young man laid himself under the tree to watch. As the clock struck twelve he heard a rustling noise in the air, and a bird came flying that was of pure gold; and as it was snapping at one of the apples with its beak, the gardeners son jumped up and shot an arrow at it. But the arrow did the bird no harm; only it dropped a golden feather from its tail, and then flew away. The golden feather was brought to the king in the morning, and all the council was called together. Everyone agreed that it was worth more than all the wealth of the kingdom: but the king said, One feather is of no use to me, I must have the whole bird.
Then the gardeners eldest son set out and thought to find the golden bird very easily; and when he had gone but a little way, he came to a wood, and by the side of the wood he saw a fox sitting; so he took his bow and made ready to shoot at it. Then the fox said, Do not shoot me, for I will give you good counsel; I know what your business is, and that you want to find the golden bird. You will reach a village in the evening; and when you get there, you will see two inns opposite to each other, one of which is very pleasant and beautiful to look at: go not in there, but rest for the night in the other, though it may appear to you to be very poor and mean. But the son thought to himself, What can such a beast as this know about the matter? So he shot his arrow at the fox; but he missed it, and it set up its tail above its back and ran into the wood. Then he went his way, and in the evening came to the village where the two inns were; and in one of these were people singing, and dancing, and feasting; but the other looked very dirty, and poor. I should be very silly, said he, if I went to that shabby house, and left this charming place so he went into the smart house, and ate and drank at his ease, and forgot the bird, and his country too.
金鸟的英语童话故事 2
In ancient times, there was a king in the west who planted a tree that bore golden apples in his court.
One day, a golden apple was missing from the tree. The king was very angry and determined to catch the thief of the golden apple.
The next night the king had the prince stay under the tree and watch over the golden apples that were growing on it. But at midnight the prince fell asleep. At daybreak, the king counted the golden apples and found that one was missing. He scolded the prince and gave orders
The second prince went to guard the apple tree. The two princes stayed up till midnight and dozed off. When another golden apple was missing, the king was very angry and asked the third prince to guard the apple tree.
The three princes stayed till midnight, when they heard a strange sound. Ah, it was - a beautiful golden bird came and found the golden apple. He shot an arrow at the golden bird, but missed, and the bird flew away with a golden apple, dropping only a few golden feathers.
When the king saw the feather, he was very pleased and ordered the prince to go and find the golden bird.
After the prince left the castle, he met a fox. The fox said, "You have gone to look for the golden bird. I tell you, there is a village ahead, and when you stay tonight, dont stay at the luxurious one, but at the humble one."
The prince said very unkindly, "Who listens to the nonsense of you stupid fox?"
The king could not wait for news from the big prince, so he ordered the second prince to find the Golden Bird.
The second prince went to the grand hotel where the eldest prince was staying, and saw the eldest prince drinking. The second prince fell into a daze and drank wine with the big prince, forgetting all about the golden bird search.
The king was so anxious that he called the third prince and said, "Go and find the golden bird." Hurry back."
The third prince came out of the castle and met the fox. The fox said to the third prince what he had said to the elder Prince and the second prince.
The third prince said he would listen to the fox, so the fox let him ride on his back, the fox ran quickly, and sent the third prince to live in the humble hotel.
The next morning, the fox said to the third prince, "Let me take you to the golden bird." The prince was so pleased that he rode on the foxs back, just like a horse, and soon came to an old castle.
In the castle, the three princes did see the golden bird, just ready to catch, the golden bird suddenly shouted: "Come here, there are thieves."
The third prince was captured by the guards and brought to the king of the castle, who said, "If you can find a golden horse, I will tickle your life."
But where is the golden horse? The three princes walked out of the castle dejected.
The fox appeared and carried the three princes on his back to another castle. In the stables of the castle, there was indeed a golden horse. Just as the three princes were about to lead them away, the Golden Horse cried out, "Help, there are thieves!" The third prince was caught by the guards and brought before the king of the castle.
The king said, "I will not kill you unless you can find the Golden Princess."
But where is Princess Kim? Just as the three princes could think of nothing, the fox appeared. He carried the three princes to the Golden City. In the garden, the Golden Princess was found.
This time the fox uses the spell, so that the three princes get the princess. Then he told him to pretend to give the princess to the king, and then ride away with the golden princess on a golden horse. As the fox said, he saw another king. Pretend to give him the golden horse, take the golden bird, ride the golden horse and run. So the three princes not only got the golden bird, but also got a beautiful golden princess, and a golden horse.
On his way home, the second prince found that his two older brothers had been captured and were to be beheaded for owing too much money. The original prince and the second prince spent all day drinking and drinking, has been unable to pay the debt. The third prince helped his brothers pay their debts and saved them. However, the prince and the second prince did not thank the third prince, but pushed the third prince into the well and stole the golden princess, the golden horse, and the golden bird, and went home to receive the reward.
It was the fox again who saved the three princes from the bottom of the well.
The king was very happy to see that the big prince and the second prince brought back the golden bird, as well as the Golden horse and the Golden princess. But the Golden princess cried bitterly every day, and the golden horse did not eat grass, nor did the golden bird sing, and the king did not know why.
Just then, a beggar came to the palace. Strange to say, when the princess saw that he did not cry any more, the Golden Horse ate grass happily, and the Golden bird sang.
The king was stunned. It turned out that the beggar was the third Prince. In front of everyone, Princess Jin told the king all the bad things that the big prince and the second prince had done.
The king understood, decided the third prince as the heir to the throne, and let him marry Princess Jin at once.
Who is the fox that often helps the third Prince? It turned out that he was Princess Jins brother.
金鸟的英语童话故事 3
Once upon a time, there was a king who had a large, beautiful garden behind his palace, and in it stood a tree bearing golden apples. When the apples were ripe, he had them counted, but the next morning it was found that one was missing, and the king was informed, and ordered that every night a guard be sent under the tree. The king has three sons.
The first night he sent his eldest son to watch. The eldest son went into the garden as soon as it was dark, but in the middle of the night he could not resist the attack of the sleep, and fell asleep. The next morning there was another apple missing. The second son was to watch the second night, but he was not much better. He fell asleep just after twelve o clock, and got up in the morning without another apple. Now it was the third sons turn to watch, and he too wished to go, but the king did not trust him, and thought he must be inferior to his two brothers, but at last he was allowed to go.
So the young man lay down under the tree and watched carefully, not daring to sleep. At twelve o clock there was a rustling sound in the air, and in the moonlight he saw a bird flying, with glittering golden feathers. The bird alighted on the tree. As it was pecking at an apple, the young man shot an arrow at it. The bird flew away, but the arrow hit its feather and dropped a golden feather.
The young man picked up the feathers and brought them to the king the next morning, and told him what he had seen during the night.
The king summoned his ministers to look at the golden feather, and every one of them said that such a feather was worth more than the whole kingdom.
"If this feather is so valuable," said the king, "it is not enough for me to have one. I want the whole bird. I must catch it."
So the eldest son set out to find the golden Bird. He thought that by his cleverness he would be able to find the golden bird. After he had gone some way, he saw a fox sitting on the edge of the woods and aimed his gun at it.
"Dont shoot," cried the fox. "I will give you a piece of advice. In your search for the golden bird, you will pass a village this evening, where two inns are facing each other. One of them is brightly lit and very lively; The other house was quiet and unremarkable. But you should not stay at the good one, but spend the night at the bad hotel opposite."
What good advice can a stupid animal give me, thought the prince? So he fired, but missed the fox, who cocked his tail and ran quickly away into the woods. He went on, and in the evening he came to the village where there were two inns, one of which was full of singing and dancing, and the other was quiet and very shabby.
Wouldnt I be a fool, he thought, if I stayed in a bad hotel instead of a good one? So he went into the lively inn and lived a life of extravagance, forgetting the golden Bird and his father and all his advice.
Day after day passed, but the king did not see the first son return, so the second son set out again to find the golden Bird. Like the older son, he met the fox and, ignoring its advice, went to the two inns. His brother called to him from the window of the inn where the noise was heard, and he could not resist the temptation to enter into a life of luxury.
After some time, the third prince also wanted to go out and try his luck, but his father did not allow him to go.
He said, "It is in vain for you to go, and if your two brothers cannot find the golden Bird, you have no hope."
If something were to happen, you wouldnt be able to save yourself. Its better not to go." But he insisted on going, making his father restless, and finally let him go.
The fox sat in front of the wood, begged him to spare his life, and gave him advice.
The third prince was kind-hearted. He said, "Dont be afraid, little Fox. I wont hurt you."
"You wont regret it," said the fox. Sit on my tail so that you can walk faster." No sooner had the prince sat down than the fox began to run across the fields and mountains, the wind making his fur swish. When they came to the village, the three princes got down from the foxs tail and, following its advice, went straight to the humble inn, where they spent the night safely. The next morning he went out into the field, and the fox was already sitting there, and he said, "And I will tell you what to do."
You keep going until you come to a palace where there is a group of soldiers, and you dont mind them, because they are all sleeping and snoring. You go straight into the palace, through all the rooms, and at last you come to a little room where there is a wooden cage with a golden bird in it. An empty golden birdcage hangs next to it as a luxurious decoration. You must not take the golden bird out of the wooden cage and put it in the golden cage, or something bad will happen."
With these words, the fox stretched out his tail again, told the prince to sit on it, and then galloped across the fields and mountains, the wind making his fur sound. When the prince came to the palace, he found that everything was just as the fox had said. When he went into the room, there was indeed a wooden cage hanging in it, with a golden bird in the cage and another golden cage beside it. Three golden apples were scattered about the room. He thought it would be ridiculous if he kept the golden bird in a common and ugly cage. So he opened the door of the cage, took out the golden bird, and put it in the golden cage. Just then the soldiers were awakened by a scream from the golden bird.
They burst in and put the prince in jail. The next morning he was brought before the court, where he confessed to everything, and was sentenced to death. But the king said he would spare his life on one condition, that he should bring him the golden horse, which ran faster than the wind. If he finds the golden Horse, he will not only spare his life, but also give him the golden bird as a reward.
The prince went on his way again, but he sighed and was very sad. Where will he find the golden Horse? Suddenly he saw his old friend, the fox, sitting on the road.
The fox said, "You see, something bad happened when you didnt listen to me. But dont be discouraged, I will help you and show you how to find the golden Horse. You must go straight on until you come to a palace, where the golden horse is standing in a stable. There are many stablemen lying in front of the stable, but they are all sleeping and snoring, and you can take your horses out at your leisure. But one thing must be taken care of, which is to put the old saddle of wood and leather on the horse, and never that of gold, or it will be bad."
Then the fox stretched out his tail, and the prince sat on it, and the fox ran across the fields and the mountains, the wind making his fur swish. Its all just like the fox said. He went into the stable, where stood the golden horse. When he was about to put the broken saddle on the horse, he thought: such a fine horse should have a good saddle to match, or it would be a blasphemy. But as soon as the golden saddle touched the horses back, the horse began to whine. The grooms woke up, caught him, and put him in prison. The next morning he was again condemned to death by the court, but the king promised him that if he could get the beautiful princess out of the Golden palace, he would spare his life and give him the golden horse.
The prince went on his way with a heavy heart, and fortunately he soon found the faithful fox. The fox said:
"I should have made you suffer a little, but I pity you, and will save you once more from the danger." If you go straight on this road, you will come to the Golden Palace. You can get there tonight. When it was late at night, the beautiful princess went into the bathroom to take a bath. As soon as she gets in, jump over and kiss her, and shell follow you, and you can take her away. But you mustnt let her say goodbye to her parents before you leave, or youll be in bad luck."
Then the fox stretched out his tail again, and the prince sat on it, and the fox flew across the fields and mountains.
The wind made his fur swish. When the prince came to the Golden Palace, the situation was exactly as the fox had told him. He waited until midnight, when everyone was asleep, and when the beautiful girl came into the bathroom, he jumped out and kissed her. She said she would go with him, but with tears in her eyes begged him to allow her to say goodbye to her parents before she left.
At first the prince refused her request, but the more she wept, the more she knelt at his feet, and at last he gave in. No sooner had the princess reached her fathers bed than he woke up, and so did all the people in the palace. The prince was caught again and put in prison.
The next morning the king said to him, "You have been sentenced to death." If within eight days you will remove the mountain from my window that blocks my view, I will spare your life and give you my daughter."
So the prince began to dig. He kept digging and shoveling... But after seven days, only a little bit of it was dug up, just like ten. He was very sad and utterly hopeless. But on the evening of the seventh day, the fox came again. He said, "You shouldnt have any more help from me, but youd better go to bed and Ill do it for you."
The next morning, he woke up and looked out of the window. The mountain had disappeared. The prince hastened happily to my king, and told him that it was all done. Whether the king liked it or not, he had to keep his promise and marry his daughter.
So the prince and princess went away. Soon after they had gone, the faithful fox ran up to them again, and said to him, "Though you have got the best of things, you have not yet got the golden horse which belongs to the Princess of the Golden Palace."
"Then how can I get it?" asked the prince.
The fox replied, "That is what I was going to tell you. You first deliver the beautiful princess to the king who sent you to the Golden Palace. He must be very happy, and he will give you the golden horse and lead it to you. You mount your horse, shake hands with all of them, and at last it is the turn of the beautiful princess, who you take by the hand, and with a great effort, pull her up, and drive away. None of them can overtake you, for that horse runs faster than the wind."
All went well, and the prince rode away with the beautiful princess on his golden horse. Not to be outdone, the fox said to the prince as he ran:
"Now Im going to help you get the golden bird. When you come near the palace with the golden bird, let the princess come down, and I will take care of her. Then you ride the golden horse into the palace courtyard, and they will be very happy to see the golden horse, and they will bring out the golden wood for you. When you have the cage, hurry the horses back to us, and then take the princess away."
That too was a success. The prince was going home with his baby, and the fox said to him, "Now you must repay me for my help."
"And what do you need me to do?" asked the prince.
"If we go into those woods over there, shoot me and cut off my head and claws."
"That would be ungrateful," said the prince, "and I cannot in any way promise you that." The fox said:
"If you dont want to do that, I have to leave you. But before I go, let me give you one piece of advice. There are two things you should pay attention to: dont buy the meat on the gallows; Dont sit by the well." Then it ran off into the woods.
"What a strange animal!" thought the prince. Always having some strange idea or other.
Who buys meat from the gallows? Ive never had the pleasure of sitting by a well! He rode on with the beautiful princess, and passed the village where his two brothers had left to play. It was crowded and noisy, and he inquired what was going on, and was told that two men were to be hanged.
Pressing closer, he saw that the men to be hanged were his two brothers, for they had done all sorts of bad things and squandered all their money. He asked people if they could be released. People replied:
"As long as you pay for them. But why should you waste your money to atone for such bad people?"
Without a word, he paid for his two brothers, and they were released. So the three brothers went home together.
They came to the wood where they had met the fox earlier. Because the sun was hot and the wood was cool and comfortable, his two brothers said, "Let us sit here by the well and rest, and eat and drink." He agreed. While they were talking, he forgot the foxs advice and sat down by the well, not thinking of any danger. But the two brothers pushed him down the well from behind, and went home to their father with the princess, the Golden Horse, and the Golden Bird.
They said, "We have not only brought back the golden bird, but we have also taken away the golden horse and the princess of the golden palace."
Father was very happy to hear this. But the golden horse would not eat grass, the golden bird would not sing, and the princess sat there always crying. In fact, the little prince was not dead. Fortunately there was no water in the well, and he fell into the soft mud unhurt, but he could not come up. In this crisis, the faithful fox did not abandon him. She jumped down into the well and reproached him for forgetting her advice. He said, "I cant leave you. I want you to see the light of day." It let him hold its tail tightly and dragged him up. "You are not quite out of danger," said the fox. Your brothers are afraid that you are not dead, and they have put a lot of men around the forest, and if they see you, they will kill you."
A poor man was sitting by the road, and the prince changed his clothes and went back to the palace. No one in the palace recognized him, but the birds began to sing, the horses began to eat grass, and the princess stopped crying. The King was surprised and asked, "What is this?" The princess replied, "I dont know, I was sad before, but now I am happy." I feel like my real fiance is back." She told the king everything, even though her brothers had threatened to put her to death if she revealed the secret. The king summoned all the people in the palace to him, and the little prince, dressed in ragged clothes and dressed as a poor man, also came. The princess recognized him at once and threw herself into his arms. Two vicious brothers were arrested and executed. The little prince married the beautiful princess and was appointed heir to the king.
But what happened to the poor fox? After a long time the prince went hunting again in the woods, where he met the fox, who said to him, "Now you have all that you have wished for, but my misery is not yet over, and it is within your power to save me." It begged him again and again to kill it with a gun and cut off its head and claws. So he had to do as it told him. As soon as it was done, the fox changed into a man, and this man was the brother of the beautiful princess. It turned out that he had been enchanted, and now he had finally been saved. After that, they wanted nothing and lived happily all their lives.
金鸟的英语童话故事 4
Once upon a time, a king had a golden apple-bearing tree in his beautiful garden, and every day he went to count the golden apples when they bore fruit. One year, when the golden apples were ripe, he found that every night he lost one golden apple. The king was very angry, and had the gardener keep watch under the tree all night. The gardener sent his eldest son to watch it first. At twelve o clock in the night the eldest son fell asleep, and the next morning he found another golden apple missing. That night, the gardener sent his second son to watch, but in the middle of the night, the second son also fell asleep, and in the morning, it was found that there was still one missing. So the third son asked to be a watchman, and the gardener did not want him to go at first, fearing that it would be dangerous for him to go, but finally agreed to the sons request. At night, the young man lay under the tree and watched carefully. After the clock had struck twelve, he heard a rustling sound in the air, and looking carefully, he saw that a bird of pure gold was flying from the tree, pecking at an apple with its beak. The gardeners son jumped up at once and shot at the golden bird with his bow and arrow. The arrow did not hit the bird, only one of the golden feathers fell off its tail, and the bird flew away. The next morning, the golden feather was brought to the king, who immediately summoned his ministers to confirm it. All the ministers agreed that this was a golden feather of great value, worth more than all the riches of the kingdom. But the king said:
"One feather is of no use to me. I want the whole golden bird."
When the gardeners eldest son heard this, he thought it would be a very easy thing to do, so he set out to find the golden bird. After he had gone a little way, he came to a wood and saw a fox sitting by the edge of the wood. He immediately took down his bow and arrow to shoot it. But the fox spoke up and said, "Dont shoot me, and I will give you some kind advice." I know why youre here. You must be looking for the golden bird. Tonight, you will go to a village, and when you get there, you will see two small inns facing each other. One of them is very lively and looks very magnificent. You must not go in there. There is a little inn opposite, and though its doors are poor and shabby, you must spend the night there." The gardeners eldest son thought, "What does such a beast know?" So he shot at the fox with a bow and an arrow, but missed, and the fox picked up his tail and ran away into the woods. He put away his bow and arrow and went on his way. In the evening, he came to the village. There were two small inns in the village. In one of the hotels, the guests were singing and dancing and enjoying themselves, while the other one looked dirty and shabby. Seeing this, he said, "I should be a fool if I stayed in this shabby house instead of enjoying that lovely, pleasant hotel." So, without hesitation, he entered the lively room, joined the guests who ate and drank, and finally settled down and lived a decadent life. The golden birds, the family, had long forgotten him.
The eldest son never returned and was never heard from. After some time, the gardener had to let the second son set out to find the golden bird. The same thing happened to him as to his brother: first he saw the fox, and the fox gave him the same advice; Then he came to the door of the two small inns, and found his brother standing at the window of the pleasure-seeking inn, calling him in. He could not resist the temptation, and went into the same inn, and at last forgot the golden bird and the family as his brother did.
After some time, the little son of the gardener also wanted to go out in search of the golden bird, but the father would not allow it, for he was very fond of the son, and was afraid that if he went, he would be unhappy and not be able to return home. But his little son did not want to stay at home, and after much persuasion, the father finally agreed to let him go. When he came to the edge of the woods, he met the fox and listened to the foxs advice. Instead of shooting it with a bow and arrow, as his brothers had done, he thanked the fox. So the fox said, "Sit on my tail so that you can go faster." He obeyed it and sat on it, and at once the fox began to run. Over the trees, over the rocks, so fast that even their hair swished in the wind.
When they came to the village, the young man jumped down. Taking the foxs advice to heart, he went without a second thought into the humble inn, where he spent the night in peace. The next morning, as he was about to go on his way, the fox came to him again and said, "Go straight ahead and you will see a castle." In front of the castle, there is a large group of soldiers lying on the ground snoring and sleeping, you do not disturb them, enter the castle and go straight ahead, you will find a house. There is a wooden bird cage in the house, it is the golden bird in the cage, there is a beautiful golden bird cage beside the cage, you must not transfer the golden bird from the ordinary bird cage to the beautiful bird cage! Otherwise you will regret it later." Then the fox put out his tail again and let the young man sit on it. Over the trees, over the rocks, their hair swishing in the wind again.
When they reached the castle door, everything was just as the fox had said. The gardeners son then went into the castle and found the house. The golden bird was kept in the wooden birds cage that hung in the house, and under the wooden birds cage lay a golden birds cage, beside which lay the three lost golden apples. He thought it was a ridiculous thing to take away such a beautiful bird in such an ordinary cage. So he opened the wooden cage and took the golden bird out and put it in the cage. At that moment the golden bird raised his head and shouted so loudly that all the soldiers woke up, and at once they seized him and brought him before their king. The next morning he was tried in court, and when all was said and done, he was sentenced to death, but the king told him to find the golden horse, which ran like lightning, and if he did, not only would he be spared the death penalty, but he would also be allowed to take the golden bird.
He went on his way again, sighing and looking very desperate. At this time, his good friend fox came again, he said, "See, you did not listen to my advice, and all this happened." But if you do as I say, Ill tell you how to find the golden Horse. To find the horse, all you have to do is go straight ahead and you will come into a castle where the golden horse is standing in a stable, beside which the stableman is sleeping and snoring. Take the horse away quietly, and put the old leather saddle by the stable on him, not the gold one!" With that, the young man sat down on the foxs tail. They stepped over the trees and over the rocks, their hair swishing in the wind.
Everything was just as the fox had said, and the stableman lay snoring, with one hand on the golden saddle. When the gardeners son saw the golden horse, he thought that it was too much to put the leather saddle on the golden horse, and thought, "I will give the golden horse the good one, so that it will match." As he took the golden saddle, the stableman woke up and cried loudly at once. Hearing the cry, the guards rushed in and caught him. The next morning he was brought before the court again, and the sentence was death, but if he could bring a beautiful princess from far away, the death penalty would be spared, and the golden horse would be his, so he agreed.
With a heavy heart, he set out again. The familiar fox appeared before him again and said, "Why dont you listen to me? If you had listened to me, you would have the golden bird and the golden horse by now. You know what? Let me give you one more piece of advice. Go straight ahead and you will reach a castle in the evening. At twelve o clock in the evening, the princess is going to the bathhouse, you jump up to her, kiss her, and she will let you lead her out of there. But be careful not to promise her goodbye to her parents! With that, the fox stretched out his tail and let him sit on it. Over the trees, over the rocks, their hair swishing in the wind.
When he came to the castle, everything was just as the fox had said. At twelve o clock in the evening, while the young man was waiting for the girl to go to the bath, he jumped forward and kissed her. She immediately said she would go with him, but pleaded with him, with tears in his eyes, to let her go and say goodbye to her father. At first he refused, but later, seeing her sad appearance, he agreed to her. When she got to her fathers room, the guards woke up, so that he was a prisoner again.
He was brought before the king, who said, "You will never have my daughter unless you can cut out the mountain in front of my window that blocks my view within eight days." That mountain is so big that even if all the people in the world were to dig it, I am afraid it could not be dug away, and after he worked for seven days, the mountain still looked like it had not moved. In his despair, the fox came again and said:
"You go to bed and Ill dig for you." When he awoke the next morning, the mountain was gone, and he went joyfully to the king, and told him that it had been dug up, and that he must give him the princess in marriage.
The king had to keep his promise, and let the young man and the princess go. On the way, the fox ran to him and said, "We shall have all three treasures: the princess, the golden horse, and the golden bird." The young man heard this and said, "Really! Its not easy. How can you do it?"
The fox said, "If you do as I say, you can do it. When you go to the king, he will ask you for the beautiful princess, and he will be very pleased that you give him the princess. After you mount the golden horse he gives you, you stretch out your hand to say goodbye to them, shake hands with the princess at last, and then take the opportunity to quickly pull her up to sit behind you, kick the golden horse, and gallop away at full speed."
All went well, and the boy rode with the princess to meet the fox. The fox said to him, "When you go to the castle where the golden bird is, the princess and I will stay at the gate, and you will ride the golden horse into the city and give the king his commission." When he sees that it is indeed the horse he wants, he will let you take the golden bird. But you must sit still on the horse and say that you want to see the bird, so that you can be sure that it is not the real golden bird. When you take the golden bird to your hand, fly away."
All was as the fox had commanded. He went out of the castle with the golden bird, and when they met the princess, they rode into a large wood, where the fox said to him, "Kill me, please, and cut off my head and feet." But the young man refused. He thought it was ungrateful. The fox said, "You may not kill me, but I will give you one piece of advice anyway: take care of two things: do not redeem anyone from the gallows, and do not sit on the bank of the river." Then the fox went away. The young man thought, "All right! Its not that hard to do."
He and the princess were riding home. When they came to the village where the two brothers were staying, they heard a lot of noise and noise, and he asked a man what was going on, and the man said, "Two men are going to be hanged." When he came closer, he saw that the two men were his brothers, who were now robbers. He immediately asked, "Is there nothing that can be done to save them?" "There is no way," said the man, "unless someone gives these two scoundrels all his money to buy their freedom." Hearing this sentence, he took out the ransom he wanted without thinking, saved the two brothers, and then walked home with the two brothers.
When they came to the wood where they had first met the fox, it was so cool that the two brothers said happily, "Let us go and sit by the river, and rest, and eat, and drink." He immediately said, "All right!" Completely forgetting the foxs advice, he went to the river and sat down, not thinking that anything bad would happen. The two brothers, with evil intentions, crept up behind him, pushed him violently down the bank, and then went home with the princess, the golden horse, and the golden bird. When they saw the king, they said, "We have fought hard for all this." This made everyone very happy. But the horse did not eat, the bird did not sing, and the princess wept all day long.
The young son fell into the riverbed. Fortunately, the riverbed was almost dry, but most of his bones were broken, and he lay on the riverbed for a long time before he got up. The edge of the river was so steep that he could not find his way to shore. The fox appeared again, and reproached him for not following his advice, otherwise there would have been no disaster. At last the fox said, "I cannot let you stay here, so I will save you once more from danger." Come on! Grab my tail and hold on tight." Then they pulled him up the bank. When he reached the shore, the fox said to him, "Your brothers are still watching out for you, and if you show your face and they find you, they will kill you." So he disguised himself as a poor man and went quietly to the kings court. As soon as he entered, the horses began to eat, the birds began to sing, and the princess stopped crying. When he saw the king, he told him all his brothers deceitful deeds, and the king at once had them arrested and punished. The princess returned to him, and when the king died, he became heir to the kingdom.
One day, much later, he went for a walk in the woods and met the fox again. The fox begged him in tears to kill it and cut off its head and feet, and at last he had to do it. As soon as he finished, the fox turned into a man, who was the princesss brother who had been missing for many years.
