On Saturday and Sunday, I often go to the library and play the piano, My father go to play basketball. Sometimes, we watch TV and listen to music at home.

那天英语课前，我正在闷闷不乐地写着语文作业，同桌悄悄地对我说：“英语老师来了。”我连忙收起语文书，换成了英语书。“唉！又是英语课！”我叹了一口气。大家一定明白了，我就是那个怕上英语课的孩子。
英语课开始了，只听见英语老师说：“跟我念‘bus’。”“bus。”同学们齐声念道，而我却一点都不感兴趣，低下头做起小动作。
老师发现了，把我叫到教室前面，幽默地说道：“我认真地教你，你却不认真学，真是好雨落在了荒田里。”老师的话逗得大家哈哈大笑。
课继续上下去，同学们又读起了单词来。过了一会，老师把一道难题交给我答。我一脸漫不经心的.样子，可是脱口而出的答案竟然蒙对了！我心里高兴极了，老师也给我竖起了大拇指。我下定决心，决定好好学英语。以后，老师给我出题的时候，我总能答对。有一次，我一不小心答错了，心里竟然还挺疼的。
我越来越喜欢学习英语了。老师布置的英语作业我总能认真完成。我还拿出笔写下许许多多英语单词，密密麻麻的。然后，我又一一默下来，错了的单词，我还抄下来订正。就这样，我的英语明显有了大大的好转，从40多分到80多分，在别人看来也许依然还差，但对于我已经很不错了。
在学习英语的过程中，我体会到了快乐的滋味。以后我一定好好学习英语，让快乐永远陪伴着我。

从小学到初中都在学英语，教过我的英语老师也有好几个，但只有一个老师让我印象深刻——他就是许英茂老师。
许老师打扮得整齐、干净，挺帅气的。大部分时间都是穿西装，很少见他穿休闲装。
上课时，他要么踮起脚尖，要么双手放在肚子前。千万不要在他面前搞小动作，他的脸异常严肃，这只是轻微的.；严重的话，保佑你不会给他罚死。
许老师要求严格，没有完成作业就去跑步，没有背书就不许吃饭（其实只是把你留到半个小时后就把你放走了），上课迟到就要站着上课，至于其他的处罚，像上下蹲、100个兔子、100个鸭子步、100个……许老师说：“你犯的次数越多，每次就越会往上増。”
我觉得这样挺好的，反正罚的又不是我，不过我也得小心了，否则下一个就可能是我自己。
想想上个学期，我一篇英语课文都没背，甚至连一个单词都没有认真记，现在他让我们把每个单元的unit1、unit2都背下来，每个单元的单词都要背下来，还要听写，呃……这简直是……唉！不知道该怎么说，也只好乖乖认命背书吧。
但是我觉得这样挺好的。
许老师也许偏爱草书吧，他的字迹……就像几根线缠在一起，他写的板书有些看得懂，有些看不懂，但也只能硬着头皮上，不然，没有笔记交上去，他要找你去谈谈人生。

Many thanks for your letter dated 15th August, inviting me to attend and chair a session of the forthcoming 20xx International Conference on Parallel Data Processing to be held in Bellaire, Michigan, from October 25 to 28, 20xx.
Much to my regret, I shall not be able to honor the invitation because I have been suffering from a disease since this summer. I am firmly advised that it would be unwise to undertake any distant and long travel in the near future.
