My English Teacher Our English teacher Mr. Wang is a strongly built thirty-year-old man who is often simply dressed. He has been teaching us English ever since he graduated from the English Department Beijing Normal University in 1993. He devotes all his time and energy to teaching often working late into the night preparing his lessons. He is capable of making his lessons lively and interesting and all of us like his lessons. He is very strict with us but he shows us great concern. He offers us help whenever we need it. We all consider him not only as our good teacher but also as our close friend. We all respect and love him.
我们的英语老师王老师，今年30岁，身体强健，衣着朴素。自从1993年北京师范大学英语系毕业以来，他一直在教我们英语。他把时间和精力都用在教学上，常常备课工作到深夜。他能把自己的课上得生动有趣，我们大家都喜欢。他对我们既非常严格，又极为关心，不管我们什么时候需要帮助，他都主动提供帮助。我们全都认为他不仅是我们的好老师，而且也是我们的.好朋友，我们全都爱戴弛。

就在一个月前，我和郑凯慧意外的被选为参加英语演讲比赛。
第一个任务就是自我介绍。天哪我连最简单的写作，写短短的一片英语作文都不会，还叫我写自我介绍，这不是比登天还难吗?我只好硬着头皮自己写一点，网上翻译一点，东拼西凑出一篇文章。之后，我便尝试着一点一点的背诵。可开头就把我给难住了：小学的英文叫做“elementary school”这么长的英语单词可怎么读呀!我又是问老师又是查电脑，终于把它克服了!之后，我又是准备十篇文章，又是读书本上的英语小短文，所有的'一切都准备好了，就只差东风了!
12月11日，我怀着忐忑不安的心情出发了。很快，我们就到达了目的地。在准备的报告厅里，人声鼎沸，一会儿从东面传来“Hello,every one.”一会儿西面又高呼 “My name is…”。这使我这颗本来就没做好准备的心怦怦直跳。在准备的过程中，我心不在焉，一心只注视着别人的一举一动。终于轮到我了，在比赛室外的那一分钟等待，可把我折磨透了。一会儿传来比赛者清脆的声音，一会儿又听见评委老师的窃窃私语。但是，当我一步入比赛现场，我倒不那么紧张了，从刚开始的自我介绍声音颤抖不一，到最后的流利平稳，似乎在这短短的七八分钟里有了翻天覆地的变化。终于我的比赛结束了。
从小屋里走出来的一瞬间，我真的长舒了一口气。不管结果怎么样，这都不是最重要的，不管有没有晋级，这都是对我英语水平的锻炼，是对我的肯定。我一定会继续努力的!

A man wanted to buy an ass. He went to the market, and saw a likely one. But he wanted to test him first.
一个买主到市场上去买驴，他看中一头外表不错的驴。但是他想要先牵走试一试。
So he took the ass home, and put him into the stable with the other asses. The new ass looked around, and immediately went to choose a place next to the laziest ass in the stable.
于是他把驴带回家，把它和其他驴放在马厩里。新驴四处张望，马上就在马厩里最懒的驴的旁边选了一个地方。
When the man saw this he put a halter on the ass at once, and gave him back to his owner.The owner felt quite surprised. He asked the man, "Why are you back so soon? Have you tested him already?" "I don't want to test him any more," replied the man.
于是，买驴的人立刻给那头驴套上缰绳，牵去还给驴的卖主。卖主感到很奇怪，他问买主：“你怎么这么快就回来了?你测试过它了么？”“不必再试了，从他所选择什么样的朋友来看，我已经知道他是什么样的了。”买主回答。

As we know,in the study of English,listening is very important.Listening,speaking,reading and writing are the four basic parts of learning a foreign language.Without listening,we can’t get along well with the others.Furthermore,the English examination itself wouldn’t be complete and perfect if there weren’t listening test in it.It also can’t reflect the overall ability of the students in learning a foreign language.What’s more,in communication with foreigners,if we can’t understand what they say,how can we express ourselves freely?
So we must take advantage of every chance to practise listening to develop our English to meet the needs of our society.
