对于生命来说，水是生命的成因，一个成年人身体中的2/3是水，血液中水占90%，甚至连骨头里也含有1/5的水份。一个正常人，如果没有任何食物而有饮水的条件下，可以成活20-30天，但如果没有了水，最多只能活一个星期，所以人类离不开水。可是大家知道吗，水这一对我们人类最重要的东西却在渐渐离我们远去，据有关资料统计，地球上总水量为13.6-13.9亿立方千米。其中海水占总水量的97.3%,淡水仅占可怜的2.7%，土壤、大气、生物中也含有一定量的水分。
而在淡水中，77.2%是以冰川、冰帽和冰盖的形式存在的，无法直接利用;另外有22.4%是深层的地下水，要开采使用所花费的任劳代价太高，地面上的河流、湖泊及浅层地下水是我们可以利用的，仅占总水量的0.32%，这个百分比虽然很小，可利用的而且水还可以再生，可是为什么它却成为了当今世界上最关注的话题，因为有一些水源受到污染，不宜使用，我国是一个贫水国，所以珍惜水资源更是势在必行。
在生活中，我们经常看到浪费水、污染水的现象，如：水龙头未拧紧，滴漏;大手大脚的用水，任水哗啦哗啦地流;生活废水和垃圾乱倒等等。我们的水资源非常有限，污染又这么严重，发展下去会严重影响每个人的生活，所以，必须防止水污染，节约用水。
每一个人都要行动起来，从自己身边的小事做起：如利用洗完菜、米的水来浇花，拧紧滴水的水龙头，不把垃圾扔进河里……同学们，放假或双休日时，我们应该做些什么有意义的事呢?我想可以从节约用水、减少污染、保护水资源开始，让我们积极行动起来吧，珍惜地球上的每一滴水!
