An individual human existence should be like a river—small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past boulders and over waterfalls.Gradually the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea,and painlessly lose their individual being.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity,of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a boy of twenty.Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.Worry,fear,self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
Thank you!

Everybody has his dream job. I also have my dream job. My dream is to work for foreign tourists as a tour guide.
Why do I want to be a tour guide? First of all, Im an outgoing girl, and I like doing some exciting things. Maybe being a tour guide is the best choice. If I become a tour guide, I can travel all around China, and know more about our country. Then I will tell the foreign tourists about our colorful history. Second, I like making friends. If I work as a tour guide, I can make a lot of friends all over the world. This may be great.
Perhaps someday my foreign friends will ask me to visit their countries. I really like to go to their countries to know something about their culture. What’s more, I like singing.
Singing English songs is my favorite. I believe I will be popular with foreign tourists. Their trip will be excellent.
Now, I am still a middle school student. My job now is to work hard in school. Then I’ll go to university to learn something about being a tour guide. I’m sure I can.

Today is my two months and two days celebration of working in suntrans. This is my first job, and I am very glad tohave it, and to stand here sharing my feelings with all of you.
Today my topic is a little bit long, it is,the happy days of my dear little young fellows and me spent together in our companySuntrans. We had numerous happy days together, and every day is memorable. Itis so long that if I share every moment with you, this meeting may last three days or even longer. So in order to give us time to work, to eat, to go homeand to sleep, I will only share three most memorable moments we had together.
The first memorable moment for me was thecompany activity held in May by our human resources Department. We played games together and had a great time. That day was my 25th birthday, but that is not the most important reason whyI remember it so well. Firstly, I learned our company’s history, and felt thatit is very difficult to start a business, and thought that everyone in ourcompany is very hard working. Secondly, I joined Maple’s team that day, although we almost lost all of the competitions, everyone was so happy andfriendly and my team made me understood the meaning of the phrase– “team spirit”.I began to understand and like our company after that day’s activity.
The second memorable moment for me was the birthday party held in May. I never had such a birthday party before, what’s more, my birthday is the same month as our General Manager Lu, and I felt very honored and grateful. I received a lot of warm celebration words from all of you and a lovely birthday card. I was so moved that day and had the feeling that I am a part of this big family. When I blew off the candles, I made three wishes, firstly, make progress in English, secondly, make progress in Japanese,Thirdly, do my best to become a good translator in Suntrans. I hope my wisheswill come true in the future.
The third memorable mmoment for me was The Second Experience Exchanging Forum of Mining Investment 20XX. This is the first time I took part in such a big conference, and I was very excited and willing to do something for it. We did work very hard for this conference, and even asked the Dragon Boat Festival to contribute. This conference gave me a great workexperience and taught me many things: for example how to do advertising and marketing, and a great knowledge in mining industry. The most important is, our young fellows’team work is very brilliant, and I love our company more thanever after this conference.
These are the three most memorable moments for me that I spent with all of you in Suntrans, I hope that we can create moreand more in the future.
Thank you all, best wishes with love.

Protect the Environment, Protect Ourselves Good afternoon, my honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen and fellow contestants: I feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. The title of my speech is Protect the Environment, Protect Ourselves. I hope you will like it. Everybody knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers and polluting the water.
Our environment is the place in which we live, but it is being ruined by us. There is a story about house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection.
The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task. As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution.
But what can we do to solve the pollution? I think, firstly, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. We can ask companies to use modern clean technology. In some big cities, we can limit the number of cars. Secondly, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. We can tell factories that they are not allowed to pour waste water into the lakes and rivers. Thirdly, we should not throw rubbish in parks and cities. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. We can put more rubbish bins in our parks and cities. Fourthly, we can live far from the noise and make the laws to limit the noise.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. /chuzhong/chusan/ 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old.
He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth.
He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.
When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character.
Thank you.

Good morning everyone.
its my pleasure to be here and talk about dreams and ambitions with you. When I was a primary school student I wrote in my composition that I want to be a scientist when I grow up. At that age I didnt know what is a scientist, nor did I know what is dream. I wrote it because its a standard answer for a composition test. And I know if I wrote that I want to be a peasant I would be criticized and laughed at, no matter what reason I gave it. But now in university, one of my classmates changed my idea. At the career planning class when asked about our dreams, one of my classmates stood up and said, " I want to be a peasant because I grow up in a peasant family and I love it." No laughter, no criticism, he was the only who winned a clapping.
It sets me thinking, which should be a mans dream? a scientist, or a peasant? Its not a simple question and my answer is both. This is exactly my understanding of this topic. Dreams are something we really want and are willing to try every effort to achieve, no matter how great or how small, no matter how others think, it depends on you.
Life is long, and we are just on the starting point. Finally well understand life is not just about making a living. Therere something much more important than money and material enjoyment, that is spiritual wealth, that is dream. Its the process of your pursuit of dream, the process when you are trying, when you are seeking, when you are struggling, when you failed and restarted again and again with your determination, hardwork, and perseverance that make you, build you, and help you to lead a worthy and significative life, whether youll achieve your dream or not, the result is not that important.
Thanks for listening!

dear all:
As we know, we would feel lonely if we didnt even have a friend. But it doesnt mean we could depend on our friends all the time. There is a amous motto saying that “A friend is like a quilt with cotton wadding, but the real thing that keeps you warm is your own temperature.” It is really true. We have to work hard together with our friends, encourage each other and help each other. When we receive love and friendship, we should repay as much as we can.
Finally, lets pray together now that one day, all of us could find the person we want to find, and could enjoy a real beautiful friendship in our lives. Lets pray the flower of friendship be-tween our friends and us would always bloom brightly in our heart.

ladies and gentlemen: today i’m glad that i’m standing here talking to you all. as the title given, i am going to talk you about a way of treating people and things in life. my speech here basically includes 2 parts, in the former of which i‘ll describe you the present occasion we teenagers are in., as well as the reason behind. then it’s about the several opinions of mine toward the case above.
undoubtedly, every one of us has stepped into adolescence, a period of time where the most. let’s just imagine that there was an old lady. what she sees was her neighbors’ being mean again while not how kind they were when they took care of her sick body. what she saw was her dog’s annoying barking while not how much loyalty it had shown.what she saw was always so depressing that it finally turned her into an unpleasant person. think about how our life would be if we stand in her shoe. why don’t we focus our attention on how much we’ve already got in stead? you know it’s really simple to do as there’s a tremendous amount of examples. like the popular jetpack joy ride on your iphone, you can enjoy it whenever you like, whereas in some poor area people don’t even know such thing as iphone.
actually we should be thankful about the richness we’ve got, thankful that with each sunrise taking place we don’t need to starve to call it a day, thankful that the people we love are still in health, that we still got much to hold on. as a saying on website,” the world is tough, but i’m tougher.” what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
every day is a gift from life, all we need is to accept it, cherish the lessons life has taught us, so as to achieve our goal with high spirit. in this way, someday when we leave the world, we leave no regrets. thank you for listening.

ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, i am chinese. i am proud of being a chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. i‘ve learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. i‘ve learned about the great wall and the yangtze river. i‘ve learned about zhang heng and i‘ve learned about zheng he.who says the yellow river civilization has vanished?
i know that my ancestors have made miracles on this fertile land and we‘re still making miracles. who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our gnp ranks no. 7 in the world? we have experienced the plunders by other nations, and we have experienced the war. yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----china, unyielding and unconquerable! i once came across an american tourist. she said, ―china has a history of five thousand years, but the us only has a history of 200 years. five thousand years ago, china took the lead in the world, and now it is the us that is leading.
my heart was deeply touched by these words. it is true that we‘re still a developing nation, but it doesn‘t mean that we can despise ourselves. we have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. we have reasons to say proudly: we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition is even bigger, our challenges are great, but our will is even greater. i am chinese. i have inherited black hair and black eyes. i have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. i have also taken over responsibility. i am sure, that wherever i go, whatever i do, i shall never forget that i am chinese!

ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i‘m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is ―youth‖. i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it. first i want to ask you some questions:
1、do you know what is youth?
2、how do you master your youth? youth youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ;it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ;it is the freshness of the deep springs of life . youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease.
this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals. years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust . whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what‘s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there‘s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young . when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80. thank you!

Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. To answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshneof the deep spring of life.
A poet said “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. Several days ago, I had a chance to listen to a lecture. I learnt a lot there. I’d like to share it with all of you. Let’s show our right palms. We can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. I have a short line of life.
What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way. Well, let’s make a fist. Where is our future?
Where is our love, career, and life? Tell me.Yeah, it is in our hands. It is held in ourselves.
We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go better itself. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. From the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.
As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. The past has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “We are the world, we are the future.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, teachers and fellow students,
Good afternoon! Today, I stand before you to share a topic that has inspired countless minds and shaped the destiny of many—The Power of Dreams.
Dreams are the stars that guide us through the darkest nights, the beacon of hope that lights up our path even when everything seems lost. They are the silent whispers of our hearts, urging us to strive, to push beyond boundaries, and to reach for the skies.
Imagine a world without dreams. It would be a place devoid of creativity, innovation, and progress. Dreams are the engines that propel humanity forward. They motivate us to learn, to explore, and to transform our visions into reality. From the Wright brothers dream of flight to Malala Yousafzais dream of education for all, dreams have been the catalyst for change.
But dreams are not just about grand achievements or historical milestones. They are personal too. Each one of us harbors dreams that are unique, reflecting our aspirations, fears, and hopes. These dreams might be as modest as passing an important exam or as ambitious as starting a revolution. Regardless of their scale, they possess the same transformative power.
However, dreams do not materialize out of thin air. They require nurturing, courage, and perseverance. They demand that we face our fears, embrace challenges, and sometimes even fail. But remember, failure is not the enemy; it is a stepping stone towards success. Each setback is an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to come back stronger.
As high school students, we are at a pivotal stage in life. Our dreams are taking shape, our passions are igniting, and the world is waiting for us to make our mark. So, I urge you—dare to dream big. Embrace the unknown, chase your passions with relentless determination, and never let anyone tell you that your dreams are too far-fetched.
In conclusion, let us harness the power of our dreams. Let them guide us, inspire us, and fuel our journey towards becoming the best versions of ourselves. For it is not the destination that matters, but the journey we undertake, fueled by the fire of our dreams.
Thank you for listening.

Dear esteemed audience,
Greetings! Today, I wish to delve into a subject that is both timely and crucial—Technology and Our Social Responsibility.
In the blink of an eye, technology has revolutionized our lives. From smartphones that connect us to the world at our fingertips to artificial intelligence that is reshaping industries, the advancements are staggering. Yet, with every new technological leap, we are confronted with a question: How do we harness these tools responsibly?
Technology is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it has brought unprecedented convenience, efficiency, and access to information. On the other, it has raised concerns about privacy, security, and the digital divide. As we stand on the cusp of this technological age, it is imperative that we recognize our social responsibility.
Firstly, we must prioritize privacy and security. In an era where data is the new oil, protecting personal information has become paramount. We must advocate for robust cybersecurity measures and educate ourselves on how to safeguard our digital identities.
Secondly, we need to bridge the digital divide. While technology has brought many benefits, not everyone has access to it. This disparity can lead to social and economic inequalities. As such, it is our responsibility to ensure that technology is inclusive and accessible to all, especially those in marginalized communities.
Furthermore, technology should be used to foster empathy and understanding, not to create divides. Social media, for instance, has the power to connect people across borders but also to spread misinformation and hate. We must use these platforms responsibly, promoting positivity, dialogue, and mutual respect.
Moreover, we have a responsibility to develop technology that is sustainable. The environmental impact of our digital habits cannot be overlooked. From the carbon footprint of data centers to the e-waste problem, we must strive for eco-friendly solutions.
Lastly, as future leaders and innovators, we must foster a culture of ethical tech development. This means incorporating values like transparency, fairness, and accountability into the design and implementation of technological solutions.
In conclusion, technology holds immense potential for good, but only if we wield it responsibly. Let us commit to using our technological prowess to create a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable world. For in the end, it is not the technology itself that shapes our future but the choices we make in harnessing it.
Thank you for your attention.
